Iron Sky's Producers to Feature at Supanova's D-Day
24 March, 2011
On April 1, Australia's premier pop culture expo will commence with Directors' Day, foregrounding the work of creators of 'genre' screen productions, from comedy-horror to anime, thrillers, web-TV satire and a superhero rom-com. Three major Queensland films Bait, Iron Sky and Bad Behaviour will feature among the projects, represented by Cathy Overett, Chris Brown and Joseph Sims.
The daring, independent science fiction, Iron Sky, is about fascists from the dark side of the moon, who, having hidden out there since WWII, have plotted their devastating return for over 70 years. In 2018, the space Nazi invasion is on its way, and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom. Queensland-based producer Cathy Overett speaks on behalf of this Australia-Finland-Germany co-production.
Producer and self-described 'genre nerd' Chris Brown will reveal all about Bait, a timely and controversial 3D thriller in which a tsunami strikes the Australian coast, floods a shopping mall and traps people inside, with an armed maniac and a pack of ravenous tiger sharks.
Slasher horror Bad Behavior will be represented by Joseph Sims, writer/director, Kris Maric, producer and star John Jarratt. They will present a panel and premiere the theatrical trailer for their upcoming release.
Posted online by Screen Queensland.
The day kicks off at 1pm with the expo’s trading floor, panels run from 2pm to 5pm and Supanova’s official ‘opening ceremony’ will commence at 6pm.
