Strangerland
Newcomers in a town that doesn’t trust strangers, the Parkers deal with their isolation in different ways.
When their children disappear in a duststorm, suspicion is rife. Yet who in Nathgari hasn’t been sleeping with 15-year old Aleta? And what is the secret the Parkers have moved away from?
Catherine and Matthew’s loveless marriage melts down and their personas as parents twist and turn. In despair, Catherine lays herself bare before the town and Matthew walks into the desert in a final desperate search for their children.
Strangerland is a compelling psychological drama about a family struggling to survive a tragedy set on the edge of the desert.
This is the story of those left to answer the questions and pick up the pieces, as personal histories are revealed and relationships unravel in a sea of mistrust and suspicion.
