New Holland Pictures presents Scripts On Southgate, an informal script reading evening set up to assist Brisbane writers in developing strong, marketable stories.

Approximately every eight weeks, at Eleven17 Bar Restaurant Cafe in Cannon Hill, selected writers can hear their scripts read by professional actors and then engage in a critical discussion with the actors and audience about their work. Actors will read from the script/scene and then the writer, audience and actors will discuss it with the aim of resolving any issues.

Eleven17 is on Southgate Avenue just off Wynnum Road in Cannon Hill. It's ten minutes from the city by car or six stops from Southbank Station on the Cleveland line.

We select three or four scenes/scripts to be workshopped prior to the night. Scripts are being accepted now.

We are interested in scenes from features that are 15 - 20 minutes long, or short film scripts in entirety. Ideally your script will have no more than six characters.
