Unfinished Sky writer Peter Duncan up for an AWGIE

cathy, peter and MarkScreenwriter Peter Duncan has been nominated for an AWGIE for ‘Best Feature Film Adaptation’ for New Holland Pictures’ Unfinished Sky. In its 40th year, the Australian Writer’s Guild awards celebrate excellence in scriptwriting for TV, film and theatre.

“We are all over the moon about Peter’s nomination.  From the original Dutch screenplay De Poolse Bruid (Polish Bride), Peter has transcended its dark foreboding themes to create a beautiful, heart-warming love story that is intrinsically Australian,” said producer Cathy Overett.

New Holland would also like to congratulate friends Keith Thompson (script editor on Crosswires) for his nomination for Best Feature Film Original for Clubland; Danielle MacLean (co-writer/director on Awakening the Spirits) for her nomination for Best Children’s Television for Double Trouble; and Fiona Seres (writer on Strangerland) for Best Television Series Episode for Dangerous.

The historic 40th annual awards, judged solely by writers, will be presented at Doltone House, Sydney on Friday, August 31.
