New Holland Pictures launch party...
Ooo AArrggghhh... New Holland Pictures hoists the mast and officially sets sail onto the International Sea of film and television.
On May 27, 2005, over 60 scallywag friends of NHP boarded Good Ship New Holland to celebrate the official launch of the company. The Pirate theme was embraced by all, with eye patches and parrots appearing most popular accessory among the Pirate savvy.
Brisbane-based company directors, Cathy Overett and Mark Overett, hosted the launch at NHP headquarters in Cannon Hill. Anton Smit, one of NHP's Dutch partners, flew in for the party with a parrot on his shoulder and an accent to validate the Dutch connection.

The launch was a great success with a large representation from the local TV and Film industry. A number of guests flew in from Sydney, Tasmania and New Zealand, including NHP’s Sponsorship Manager, Geoff Burton, from Auckland.
With NHP’s first feature film slated for production later this year, and several television programmes close to green light stage, the launch party was a celebration, not only for NHP, but also for Brisbane. The buzz at the party was all about NHP breathing life into Brisbane’s film and television Industry.
Keep your eyes peeled for more news on the freshly christened Good Ship New Holland.
