Set against the vibrant backdrop of Chinese New Year celebrations, Big Story follows the journey of Lynne, a 40-something single mum from the country who’s followed her run-away son to the seedier side of the city.

Out of money and out of her depth, she falls in with a couple of dysfunctional locals. Zarife, an Iraqi cabdriver, offers her a safe harbour in his humble bedsit, but he is drowning in memories of his lost wife and child.  And Amber, a Eurasian prostitute, just 15 and pregnant, is being dragged into the depths of this sordid world.

In trying to save Amber, Lynne is woken to a shocking truth. An horrific event – so awful her memory had completely blocked it out.

Big Story is a colourful tale of how life threw three lonely people together and turned them into a family.
