Anton joins top producers at IndiVision

New Holland Pictures’ Anton Smit was today announced as one of a stellar line-up of award-winning local advisors to join the international guests for the AFC's IndiVision Project Lab.

Anton joins producers Julie Ryan (Ten Canoes), Lynda House (Muriel's Wedding), John Maynard (The Boys), and Al Clark (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), writers Andrew Bovell (Lantana) and Michael Petroni (Till Human Voices Wake Us), performance consultants Steven Vidler (Blackrock) and David Field (Oyster Farmer), and concept designer Rowan Cassidy (Moulin Rouge).

The AFC's IndiVision Project Lab is a high-level professional hothouse specifically tailored for Australian filmmaking teams developing low-budget feature films.

The core philosophy of the Lab is ‘whole-project development'; simultaneously developing a film's script, the director's vision, and a production methodology. The Lab program combines performance elements, visual language, shooting, production strategies, script development and financing. It caters for projects both in early development and close to production.

Chris Fitchett, Acting Chief Executive of the AFC, said, 'This group of advisors share not only a tremendous depth of experience, but also a passionate belief in low-budget filmmaking and its ability to produce works of extraordinary power and distinction. Many of these advisors are joining us for the second or third time, and we believe this demonstrates the industry’s commitment to the IndiVision program and its goal of creating an energised and skilled independent filmmaking community.'
