Director's Biography
Tomas Villum Jensen has performed as an actor in some of the most successful and highly esteemed Danish feature films, but his passion lies within film directing, a talent which he has developed since 1996 where he together with Anders Thomas Jensen co-directed the short film Ernst And The Light, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
Since then, Tomas Villum Jensen has had great commercial success with the comedies The Sun King (2005) and Clash Of Egos (2006). At World’s End is his 6th feature film.
Director's Statement
In At World’s End, we have worked with international actors such as Steven Berkoff, Kee Chan, and Matthias Hues, and it has been a great challenge to direct in English – a challenge that I am very happy to take up again. Furthermore, we have also worked with the strong Danish actors Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Birgitte Hjort Sørenson, Nicolas Bro and Birthe Neumann, which has been an exceeding pleasure.
The film is generally about the quest for eternal life, and exactly that theme has probably never filled more in people’s minds that it does in these days, where we talk about fitness, plastic breasts and ecology.
